I just found out as a Ubisoft rep (that was very camera shy) showed the game off on Gamespot's On The Spot. I wrote down some early information, but I will dissect it down to new features he said would be in the game. Seems like you guys have been able to add allot more to the game. I like how you increased the visual size of the heavy mechs. When I saw how small the panther looked compared to the mammoth levathon I was laughing. Looks great.
NEW Information Gathered @ The End of Page 1
Article says: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/warworld/news.html?sid=6173554
No Story - All Action
8 Players per map
No Pricing Yet
Enemy Names Displayed Above Mech
BCT Compound Map lightened up, looks much better IMO
Controls are almost exactly like Halo
Updated Graphics Screenshots: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/warworld/images.html
Ubisoft Rep On The Spot Video (War World Presentation @ 23:00 in video)
Download: http://www.gamespot.com/downloads/6173674
Stream: http://www.gamespot.com/shows/on-the-spot/?series=on-the-spot&event=on_the_spot20070705
This is the information I gathered while watching the On The Spot showing of the game. Anything I could see on the mech I wrote down.
No Story - All Action
Assigned Mech each level in single player arcade mode.
Around 125 Megabytes
Jump mech has 100 boost in Xbox version
The way you customize your mech has been changed. Every mech is pre-equipped with weapons.
16 Players per Map [?]
10 Mechs [?]
8 Maps [?]
Stealth Mech (Cannot be seen till it fires) [?]
Late Summer Release Date (SOON)
Microsoft won't say Pricing
[?] = Would like information confirmed or corrected.
Mech Information:
Panther Striker - Speed Dash - Armor 150, Jump 30, Magazine 1.0, Speed 4.0 - Chaingun Weapons, Run Thruster
Panther Eagle - Air Attack - Armor 150, Jump 30, Magazine 1.0, Speed 4.0 - Chaingun Weapons, Jump Thruster, Basic Shield
Python Longbow - Sniper - Armor 200, Jump 30, Magazine 1.2, Speed 3.0 - Laser
Python Ghost - Stealth Mech - Armor 200, Jump 30, Magazine 1.2, Speed 3.0 - Chaingun, Stealth Ability
Thunder Angle - Lasers Penetrate Walls - Armor 400, Jump 25, Magazine 1.5, Speed 2.0 - Lasers
Thunder Peacekeeper - Lasers Penetrate Shields - Armor 400,Jump 25, Magazine 1.5, Speed 2.0 - Lasers
S1000 Battlemaster - Fires Explosive Mines - Armor 600 - Jump 25 - Magazine 1.8, Speed 1.5 - Mine Launcher, Chaingun, Missles,
S1000 Dragon - Powerful Shields - Armor 600 - Jump 25 - Magazine 1.8, Speed 1.5 - Best Shield, Chaingun
King Leviathan - Devastating Beam Weapons - Armor 800, Jump 25, Magazine 3.0, Speed 1.0 - Lasers
Leviathan Commander - Area Bombardment - Armor 800, Jump 25, Magazine 3.0, Speed 1.0 - Mortor, Missles, Chaingun
Questions:
Will the new content on the Xbox version be added to the PC version? New Menus, Shop screen, Mech size adjustments, names above player name, numerous graphical improvements?
Ubisoft presented War World on Gamespot's On The Spot show, so they must be somehow affiliated with Third Wave Games. Other then helping get the word out on Gamespot & other such major websites, what else is Ubisoft helping you with ? Major US Publisher + War World = ? US PC Release? _________________

Steel do you have a Xbox 360 yet? JC was asking me recently and sadly I don't.
I just spent my money last month upgrading my PC Video Card to Xbox 360 level of graphics processing so I can't afford upgrading a second gaming platform just yet.
If it does come out as soon as Ubisoft is saying, your title will be the first and only 150 MB arcade game that takes full advantage of the Xbox 360's hardware. Since most of the Xbox player base are FPS gamers, your game should do well. Just make sure the game is listed as a Fast Paced Third Person Shooter. Make sure they understand when buying it that it plays like an FPS action game more then a Mech Simulator. Otherwise some of the potential FPS buyers might disregard it as a Mech Sim (which honestly, don't do well on consoles in the US). _________________

Allot of the people on Gamespot are asking about this game are saying that they are unsure if they will like it & want to try a demo version of it first. Suggest you make & release a demo for War World on the Xbox 360 after the game.
Also allot of them are worried about the price since this is the best Xbox Live Arcade game they have ever seen. The lower you go, the more people that will buy it. Releasing it at that sweet spot is what needs to be done. The reason I am worried about price is because past Xbox Live Arcade games cost only 1000 Microsoft points. Since you guys have put allot of time and money into this game I suggest 1600 points ($20) that way millions of players will buy your game. The reason Xbox live games sell so well, sometimes millions of units sold, is because they don't cost much compared to the $60 full game cost.
The less it is, the more that buy. I am sure Microsoft is helping you guys pick a price right now with better market knowledge from how their past Live Arcade games have sold versus their price. Lets just say, I don't think any games have sold over 1600 points on Live Arcade.
Read what the Xbox 360 players are saying in the comments sections:
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/warworld/news.html?sid=6173554
As you can see, most of them are saying less then 1600 points. Going over that and you will only hurt sales.
Higher $ = Less # Sold
Lower $ = More # Sold
$20 x (A) - fees > $25 x (B) - fees > $30 x (C) - fees
Fill in how many units you think will be sold at that price range. So for me that would be...
My estimation of total units sold for price you pick.
(A) 1600 Points ($20) = 1 Million or more
(B) 2000 Points ($25) = 1/2 Million
(C) 2400 Points ($30) = 1/4 Million or less
$20 x 1,000,000 - fees > $25 x 500,000 - fees > $30 x 250,000 - fees
$20,000,000 - fees > $12,500,000 - fees > $ 7,500,000 - fees
fees = (Cost to run company while making this game - income made from PC version) + (Microsoft & Ubisoft cuts)
Those of course are all hopeful numbers. Lets see other numbers if it didn't do that well.
What if A = 500,000 B = 250,000 C= 125,000
20 x 500,000 ... 25 x 250,000 ... 30 x 125,000
$10,000,000 - fees > $7,500,000 - fees > $3,750,000 - fees
I am sure MB is doing the math now as he works on the price. I honestly think you will do better the less the cost per unit due to more of the current 10 million Xbox 360 owners buying the game if it costs less. I mean just read the comments from Gamespot that I linked earlier.

Hi Destman,
Ubisoft is the actual publisher of the game. They really liked the PC version and thought it would be perfect for XBLA.
Yes we will be releasing a demo of War World 360 on XBLA so that people can try before buying.
Thanks for posting the gamespot video link by the way

No problem, this is quite an exciting announcement, I can't write down enough information about this. I think I have edited my posts in this thread over 20 times as I re-read and re-watch the video and article for more information I missed.
Although I don't have an Xbox 360, seeing what you have done with that version is exciting.
Another question just popped in my head. Will Ubisoft or Microsoft be showing the game off more at E3?
Further thought on getting the word out & getting as many people as possible to know that your game is coming to the Xbox Arcade. Maybe you could make a new gameplay video to put on the Xbox Live marketplace for free. Also you could make a Xbox theme pack with all of the wallpapers & art you made for the game. I think they even allow you to put screenshot packs on the marketplace to show off your upcoming game release. Screenshots, Video & Wallpapers for Xbox 360 owners would be good before you release the game or demo. That way everyone knows more about your game before the official release. _________________

(Responding to JC's pre-edit post)
This is how I would play all 10 mechs from the information gathered from the On The Spot video.
Panther Striker = Hit & Run tactics. Great at picking off weak mechs & capturing undefended flags. Forcing the enemy team to defend every flag.
Panther Eagle = I'd use this as a bunny hoping robot. Taping the booster rather then holding it down. Constantly jumping to avoid enemy fire.
Python Longbow = Use your speed to keep range and snipe from afar. If a enemy tries to get close, back away.
Python Ghost = I still don't understand if it is just radar invisibility or does the whole mech become invisible. Either way, kill stealing mech.
Thunder Angle = Hide behind something and shoot your enemies through it. Keep objects between you and your enemy so that he cannot hit you.
Thunder Peacekeeper = To situational for me. I'd only use this if the enemy is mostly comprised of S1000 Dragons.
S1000 Battlemaster = On Bomb Assault maps this is the best defensive mech. Keep your pad mined at all times.
S1000 Dragon = On CTF Maps this is the best defensive mech. You can greatly slow down a enemy from capturing your point. As long as you stay ontop of a flag the enemy will have a hard time taking it from you when your can shield.
King Leviathan = If the enemy is going completely defensive in a CTF or Bomb Assault game, this is the mech you should use to break their defense.
Leviathan Commander = Long range, spam missles. Short range, chainguns and mortars. Whenever you see two enemies next to each other, shoot at them.
Although I haven't played this version yet, I can already tell which mechs I'd use the most in each gameplay mode.
Deathmatch = Panther Striker, Panther Eagle, Python Longbow, Python Ghost
Team Deathmatch = Python Longbow, Panther Eagle
Bomb Assault = Panther Striker, S1000 Battlemaster
Capture The Flag = Panther Striker, S1000 Dragon
It looks Ubisoft will be showing off all of their games at E3. So there should be more coverage of War World all next week. I will make sure to post links to all war world coverage I can throughout E3 week in this thread. _________________

Interesting to read your take on the mechs Destman. I think you might be surprised when you get to try the mechs out in battle
The Python Ghost Mech has full invisibility for a short period. When you start attacking the invisibility cloaking effect will end. Examples for use could be for surprise attacks, hit and run, getting out of trouble etc. _________________

So after the Xbox 360 version is released you could work with Ubisoft further to release a updated PC War World to both digital distribution websites & US Retailers through Ubisoft to further cash in on your hard work. After that you could use the money generated by both versions to invest into your next project & the possible expansion of your team _________________

I'm sitting here watching the MS keynote movie and the montage starts for Live!. So theres hexen...looks OK, hey....theres Sonic....cool., hey....a mech combat game.....wtf?....I own that!
anyhow, congrats guys. The minute they boosted the size cap on arcade content I knew ya'll had to be working on a port.
How hard was it porting it over to 360? How long before you got a version up and running?
-Bangy
EDIT: BTW, I own a 360 so if theres any external testing I expected to be contacted
